fuelGenie Business Account Card Service
Data that we will collect
In order to apply for and to operate a fuelGenie account with us, we will need to collect some personal data about you and about your cardholders. This personal data may include your and your cardholders’ name and contact details and other information that identifies you personally. We may also collect additional information if you provide us with feedback on the service or if you use our help desk.
Your cardholders are individuals authorised by you to use the service. If you have provided us with cardholder names or other personal information, you confirm that you have obtained their consent to process this data.
Retention of your data
We will retain your data until your account is closed and for a period of seven years thereafter, as required by law.
How we use your data
We need to process your personal data in order to process your application for and to operate the fuelGenie business account for you if you are successful in your application. Your data will be used in the following ways:
- To provide you with and operate the fuelGenie business account– which involves processing your data in order to set up, administer and maintain your fuelGenie account and all records relating to it
- To communicate with you about your fuelGenie account
- To enable us and third parties on our behalf to carry out technical, logistical or other functions to support the service and the technical and management systems upon which it relies
- To carry out credit checks and to manage and enforce any debts that are due to us
- To carry out identify checks and fraud prevention checks as we describe below
- To obtain insurance in relation to your fuelGenie account
- To enable us and third parties on our behalf to monitor website use and traffic patterns and carry out data analysis with regard to the fuelGenie accounts we operate in order to improve our services and for our internal business analysis
- To enable us to conduct marketing activities if you have consented to these as described below
- If you apply for another business account card scheme that is operated by Worldline, Worldline may use the data collected for the fuelGenie business account to decide if it will accept your application for the other business account card scheme
Disclosures of your information
In order to process your application for and to operate your fuelGenie account, we may need to pass on your data to other companies within the Worldline group of companies who help us operate the fuelGenie account card scheme.
Data may also be provided to the following classes of suppliers for us to decide whether to accept your application and to operate the fuelGenie account:
- Insurers who may provide data to the UK Government for the purposes of participating in the UK Governments trade credit reinsurance scheme set up to support insurers during the Covid – 19 Pandemic
- Credit reference agencies
- Third party legal advisors and debt collection agents
- Printers and suppliers who supply account cards and welcome packs
- Payment processors
- Document storage companies
- Alternative scheme providers (in the event we are not able to accept an application)
We may also share your data with fraud prevention agencies to help prevent fraud and money laundering and to verify your identity.
When we and fraud prevention agencies process your personal data, we do so on the basis that we have a legitimate interest in preventing fraud and money laundering, and to verify identity, in order to protect our business and to comply with laws that apply to us. Such processing is also a contractual requirement of the Services you have requested.
We, and fraud prevention agencies, may also enable law enforcement agencies to access and use your personal data to detect, investigate and prevent crime. You may be refused certain services, finance or employment as a result of this.
Fraud prevention agencies can retain your personal data for different periods of time, and if you are considered to pose a fraud or money laundering risk, your data can be held by them for up to six years.
Automated Decision Making
When you apply for a fuelGenie Account and periodically while you hold an account, your data will be passed to a credit reference agency who will use it to provide a credit rating to us. The credit rating is produced by an automated process and our decision regarding your eligibility for a business account card and the credit limit that may be applied from time to time to your account may be determined by that rating. Marketing and Preferences
If you have specifically opted in during the application or registration process with us, your personal data will be used to send you emails and marketing communications depending upon the marketing preferences that you opted for.

If you have opted into marketing communications as a fuelGenie account holder, you may receive invitations to enter promotional prize draws or competitions that we run from time to time.
Data that we will collect
When you enter our prize draws or competitions, we may ask you to provide details of your name, your email address, your phone number, and your postal address, along with any other information required for entry into the prize draw.
How we use your information
We will use this information to operate the prize draw according to the prize draw rules. In the event that you win we may notify you of this via phone or email and we may have the prize delivered to your postal address.
By entering into the prize draw you will have consented to our use of this information on this basis. If you subsequently withdraw your consent your entry to any prize draw will be removed.
Retention of your data
Any data processed as part of a prize draw will be deleted 18 months from the closing date of the prize draw.
We occasionally ask account holders that have opted into to marketing communications, to participate in promotional surveys about their use of account card services or generally about your business. These are designed to help us improve our services.
Information collected as part of a survey may include your name, your email address, your phone number, and your postal address. We will use this information, along with your answers to the survey questions to conduct market research for the purposes of improving our services.
Any data processed as part of a survey will be deleted 18 months after the closing date of the survey.
fuelGenie mobile application
Data that we collect
In order to use our fuelGenie mobile application we will need to know your location. The application will ask for your consent before we collect this data.
We do not collect any other data about you through the fuelGenie mobile app and this application does not collect any data that personally identifies you.
How we use your data
We use location data to provide the service offered by the fuelGenie mobile application.
fuelGenie account holders
Overseas transfers of data
Since Worldline operates globally, your data may be transferred to affiliates and third parties outside of the European Economic Area to countries that do not have as strong data protection laws as are in place within the EEA. This is in order that we can provide services to you. In particular email communications that you receive may be provided via a US based supplier.
In any such cases we will ensure that strict contractual protection applies in order to ensure that adequate safeguards are in place.
