New survey reveals the forecourts drivers trust most

Three of the nation’s top four favourite petrol stations are covered by the fuelGenie card – that’s official.

A YouGov survey of more than 8,000 adults who visit forecourts once or more a month, listed Tesco as their preferred fill-up destination of 50.3%.

Trust, convenience and cost were all factors in the BrandIndex tracker poll which asked, ‘when you make your next purchase, which forecourt would you consider?’.

Two of the next three favourite brands were also supermarket ones – Sainsbury’s and Morrisons were the choice of 41.3% and 29.3% of domestic and business participants.

While fuelGenie’s supermarket petrol partners lead the way when it comes to consideration and value results, it’s the oil-brand forecourt networks that record stronger quality scores due to their fuel ranges or in-store retail experience.

Tony Burgess, fuelGenie Merchant Network Director, says: "It's great to see Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons topping this survey, which reflects exactly what we hear from our own customers.

“Supermarket forecourts consistently offer some of the best value and most convenient locations for drivers, which is why our network is built around them. For businesses, that trust translates directly into savings.”

The fuelGenie account gives fleets and SMEs access to the same competitive pump prices at forecourts that drivers rated highly.

Shell, also accessible to all fuelGenie+ customers, was the best performer of all forecourts when it came to quality.

Tony adds: “It’s easy to see why drivers favour supermarket forecourts – locations and prices and a network they use day to day without the surcharges you'd find elsewhere."
