Applying for a fuelGenie account

How many fuelGenie cards can I have on my account?

There is no limit to the number of fuelGenie cards you can have per account, provided you have an appropriate credit limit.

How does my credit limit work?

As the Account Holder, you will receive a letter in your Welcome Pack stating your credit limit. Your account is subject to this credit limit, irrespective of the number of fuelGenie cards issued. If your credit limit is reached or exceeded, your account will be suspended until the 12th of the month when payment is collected by direct debit. Can I order a fuelGenie card for personal use?

fuelGenie is only available to businesses (limited companies, partnerships, PLCs and sole traders) that pass an appropriate credit check and are registered in the UK.

What is the approval criteria for fuelGenie?

We use an approved credit agency to undertake a credit check. If you are a limited company the credit check is based on accounts information filed at Companies House. For non-limited companies or sole traders the credit check is based on your trading history.

How do I get a fuelGenie fuel card?

You can apply for a fuelGenie Business Account online at www.fuelgenie.co.uk. Once you have completed the application process and your application has been accepted we will post the cards directly to you and you can start using them straight away.

What will my business's fuelGenie credit limit be?

Your credit limit will be notified to you in the letter you receive in your Welcome Pack. The amount of credit available will be based on your estimated spend and the results of the credit check which is performed when you apply for your fuelGenie Bussiness Account.

Once my account is approved, how long until I can start using fuelGenie?

You can start using your fuelGenie cards straight away. You will also be able to register your details online and take advantage of the fuelGenie online services.

Who can apply?

fuelGenie is only available to businesses (limited companies, partnerships, PLCs and sole traders) that pass an appropriate credit check and are registered in the UK.

When will I receive my fuelGenie cards?

Once your account has been accepted we will send the cards out to you by second class post so you will receive them within a few days.

Are there restrictions as to who within a company can order new cards or make amendments to their account?

Only the account holder can put restrictions on cards. Not the card holder.

What price do I pay for fuel?

You always pay the pump price shown at the fuel forecourt at the time of filling. This means you will always benefit from the low prices offered and maintained by the participating supermarkets.

Are there any account based charges?

No. fuelGenie is free to use and there are no charges for additional cards, usage reports or online services. You only pay for the fuel your business uses.

How much will my business save?

This will depend on the size and type of your fleet and your current fuel buying patterns. For more information try the online fuel savings calculator on the fuelGenie web site.

Will I be tied into a contract?

No. There is no contractual tie in with a fuelGenie Business Account.

Are there any hidden costs?

Providing you use the standard service and pay your invoice on time via direct debit there are no additional charges. If you pay via credit card there is a 2.35% handling fee.

Is there a minimum number of fuelGenie cards or size of business?

fuelGenie is open to any business that wants to save money on fuel. It is open to any size business and there is no limit to the number of fuelGenie cards you can have per account, provided you have an appropriate credit limit.

Is there a minimum monthly fee?

There is no minimum monthly fee or minimum usage criteria.

How is the price calculated?

You always pay the pump price shown at the fuel forecourt at the time of filling. This means you will always benefit from the low prices offered and maintained by the participating supermarkets.

What is online account management?

fuelGenie's online services provides 24/7 access to your fuelGenie account, putting you in the driving seat. You can manage you account, set card usage limits, request new cards, check payments, invoices, and usage by card. Both Account Holders and Cardholders can have access to the online services.

Is there any difference between the quality of supermarket fuel and other petrol retailers fuel?

All major fuel grades sold on any fuel forecourts complies with recognised industry standards. A sign of the quality is the fact that supermarket fuel sales account for over 30% of all fuel sold in the UK, so many millions of people trust the quality of supermarket fuel every day. Is fuelGenie linked to a driver or a vehicle?

A fuelGenie card can be linked to either a driver or a vehicle depending on how your business operates.

How often will I be invoiced?

You will receive an invoice once a month showing all the transactions made on your fuelGenie account.

Can I use my fuelGenie card for purchases other than petrol and diesel?

Individual fuelGenie cards can be configured at the time of issue to be used to pay for any combination of petrol, diesel, LPG, oil, and car wash. It can not be used for other purchases.

Is there a minimum charge?

There is no minimum charge linked with fuelGenie.

Are there any discounts or rebates?

You always pay the pump price shown at the fuel forecourt at the time of filling. This means you will always benefit from the low prices offered and maintained by the participating supermarkets.

When is the Customer Service Team available?

The fuelGenie Customer Service Team is available from 9:00am - 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am - 5:00pm on a Friday.


Using fuelGenie

Where can I use fuelGenie?

fuelGenie is accepted at participating Morrisons and Tesco fuel forecourts. To find your nearest forecourt use the site locator on www.fuelGenie.co.uk.

Can I use my fuelGenie card at Pay@Pump?

The fuelGenie card must be swiped by the cashier at the point of sale.

Can I use fuelGenie for purchases other than petrol and diesel?

Individual fuelGenie cards can be configured at the time of issue to be used to pay for any combination of petrol, diesel, LPG and oil. It cannot be used for any other purchases.

Can I use my supermarket loyalty card with fuelGenie?

If the participating supermarket fuel forecourt issues loyalty points for fuel purchases with fuel cards, you may continue to collect these points when using your fuelGenie cards. However, the issuing of loyalty points is at the supermarket's and loyalty scheme operator's discretion and may change at any time.

How does my credit limit work?

Can I use my Tesco Clubcard?

Yes. If the participating supermarket fuel forecourt issues loyalty points for fuel purchases with fuel cards, you may continue to collect these points when using your fuelGenie cards. However, the issuing of loyalty points is at the supermarket's and loyalty scheme operator's discretion and may change at any time.

Can I use my Morrisons Miles Card?

Yes. If the participating supermarket fuel forecourt issues loyalty points for fuel purchases with fuel cards, you may continue to collect these points when using your fuelGenie cards. However, the issuing of loyalty points is at the supermarket's and loyalty scheme operator's discretion and may change at any time.

Can I pay my invoice online?

To make payments on your account please telephone the Customer Service Team on 0845 371 2490.

What will happen if my account reaches the agreed credit limit before the end of the month?

Please telephone the Customer Service Team on 0845 371 2490 to discuss and make an advance payment on your account.

How do I order additional cards?

You can order additional and replacement cards through the fuelGenie online services account management which is available 24/7. Alternatively, you can contact the Customer Service Team on 0845 371 2490.

How do I close my fuelGenie account?

You will need to request this in writing, making sure you quote your account number. You can send an email to us at enquiries@fuelgenie.co.uk, post a letter to fuelGenie, PO Box 6139, Wolverhampton, WV1 9RQ, or fax us on 01902 782274.

What do I do if I dispute my account?

If you have any problems or queries with your account please contact the Customer Service Team via Email on enquiries@fuelGenie.co.uk or telephone 0845 371 2490.

Can I make interim payments on my account?

Yes, you can make additional payments against you fuelGenie account by either contacting the Customer Service Team and paying by debit or credit card or by sending a cheque made payable to fuelGenie. Please note credit card payments incur a 2.35% handling charge

How do I change my direct debit details?
